I laughed all the way through this book from the club to her dancing in the Philly apartment. It was quirky, loving, and at times seriously mental. Bliss had the biggest, silliest mouth I have ever read... I was always highlighting phrases of the book...to go back and read...they were that good. And Garrick, poor Garrick, didn't know what was coming when he happened upon Bliss at the Club...I think if he had, he might have run the other way. Or maybe not... this quirky love story is one I'll read again and again. Cora wrote a good book with solid characters and a wonderfully coming of age plot. Every woman I know can remember acting a fool like Bliss. And every man, though the won't admit it...have loved a Bliss in their lives. And to me a good book skies exactly what Cora for me...makes you laugh and remember...

A Moment Book Review

This book was a hard read. The subject matter was not light and friendly like most love stories. A moment tore you up and spit you out. My heart shattered every page. For Liliana who tried  so hard to be what everyone else needed her to be...yet would have given anything for her son to hug her. For Ryan who had his innoncence shattered by a family member and no one believed him. Except for Alex and Liliana. This book isn't about redemption...really its about moving on from your past. Its about letting the right people in, and letting the wrong people go. This isn't really a happily ever after book...its a happy inspite of book. I think I read this book in three hours bawling the whole time.

This book was a great read, with twist and turns, possesive lost boys, beer, a nd a few heart wrenching moments. The characters were funny and flawed. The plot as believable as any fast paced love story. I read it in one sitting...and was wrenching for more when it ended..

Head Over Heels Review

My Review:

Sometimes it feels like everything is falling into place...other times it feels like everything is falling apart. For Magee and Justin everything is falling apart. Magee feels like everything she does is a disaster. Justin's girl friend broke up with him days before the biggest weekend of his career. They need each other... they just didn't realize how much.

Let me tell you how much I loved this book. I laughed so hard all the way through. Poor Justin has his work cut out for him with Magee. (Pronounced May- GEE) It just seems like hilarity and disaster follows this poor girl. From Mountain Biking to trying to get to bed... I was in my bed laughing hysterically. I can honestly say I haven't read anything by this Author... and if it wasn't for this handy dandy ARC from Net Galley... I might have never had the pleasure.

The Characters were well thought out and brilliantly written. The plot was something I could see actually happening and reminded me of an ABC Family rom-com with the exception of one very steamy scene at the cabin. Like all romance novels the the couple falls in love faster than you can say, "How do you do?" But that's okay because I fell in love with them long before the book said, " The End."

This book was kind of like reading someone's diary but starting in the middle. I was confused because we never got the full story on either one of the main characters. Yet it was an enjoyable read. Like I said in my update on Good reads it was kind of like a mixture of Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. In fact the paparazzi called Ash the beast because of some gold digger he used to date. Charlotte was your modern day Cinderella. She worked her butt off trying to please a step mother who despised her and step sisters that went out of their way to make her life miserable. But she did have one bright spot in her other wise some what miserable life. Her Gran... while not related to her by blood... you could feel their closeness. Now when Ash and Charlotte perspective grandmothers turn into fairy godmothers and push them together on the sly, by having them meet at a ball...passion ensues. Their were some steamy scenes but while they were enjoyable they seemed out of place in this quirky romance. And as always they fall in love and talk about marriage sooner than I could have gotten to know three men... much less discuss the word love. But that's a romance for you. Like I said before this was a very much enjoyable book and I would probably read it again.... maybe I won't be as confused this time..

Claiming Lauren: A Review

Okay I might have gotten a little click happy on Net Galley... But I was auto approved by a publisher and was super duper excited. So when I saw this cover I was overly excited and either didn't read the synopisis or just went click happy and didn't care. This is not the usual book I review. Don't get me wrong I was just as big a fan of Fifty Shades as everyone else... but that doesn't mean I am going to review it where my mother can see it. One of my friends says its my Christian Upbringing that keeps me away from doing things like that... I think its because I want to be able to look my mother in the eye when I see her.

But anyways on to the review:

Like I said before I am just as big a fan of a little S&M fiction as the next gal...but this left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I felt like I was in the middle of this huge story even though I had just started. It was very predictable and even more boring. The steamiest thing about this book is the cover. So I give this one star and next time I will read through the net galley synopsis more vigilantly. 

May ARC Challenge

I really don't think you can review one book without the other. Honestly I think this series would have been better as one book. I would have liked it a lot better that way. Don't get me wrong I read this book like it was water and I was alone in the desert but here are my reviews.

Beautiful Disaster:
Travis is a violent, man whore...who falls in love. Abby is a girl hardened by life experiences...who knows boys just like Travis...and isn't interested in being one of the many. There is so many reasons for it not to work out... but what if it could?


This was a really good book...most of the time. I think most people will love this book...and I think if this and walking disaster were one book I would have loved it as well. This is not about two hurting people that find each other in chaos. This is about an unhealthy relationship at its worst. It was beautifully written but it was not something I liked. I found it disturbing on so many levels. If only because I have been there myself and have watched so many of my friends go through relationships just like this one... but lets just talk about the book itself.

Characters:
I am a glutton for punishment... because I know so many men just like Travis... yet I fell in love with this character. I wanted to hold him when he was grabbing for what sanity he had left. I was angry with Abby much of this book... but I think I just thought like most women do when they see something that is bad for them... I thought yep... I need that. Abby was clawing for a way out the whole time in this book. always mad, always hurting. Yet always going back... she made me mad...probably because I saw a little bit of myself in her.

Plot:
The plot was very interesting something I read through rather quickly. This wasn't a bad book... it just had me angry by the end. I wanted the ending to be better... I wanted to see them better themselves...not jump into something that might ultimately hurt the progress they were making.


Walking Disaster:

He grew up fighting and screwing. That's what he did... he liked it... Until he met Abby... she was his pigeon...

I wish I had read this one before I read Beautiful Disaster. I think I wouldn't have been so frustrated. I think I needed to read Travis' part first because when you don't he seems like an emotionally abusive butt head... and don't get me wrong their are times he is... but you understand more. I loved this book. I think Jamie took a broken love story and made it beautiful. I liked the ending much better on this one.... I needed their to be a happy ending... or at least some closure to the couple I had come to lovingly hate. Now on to the series stuff.

Characters: My favorite Character in this book is Sheply... oh how I loved him.. He cared so much about America he was going to make darn sure... Travis handled his crap right. He was so in love with America I think he was braver had he not been. And America... ha!!! she made me laugh... I have a friend just like her.

Plot: I honestly think I understood the plot alot more with Travis as the narrator. He tended to lay it down straight and not bounce around... he knew what he wanted... he just didn't know how to go about it... so he screwed up... Alot!!!

I think if you didn't finish this book because it seemed like the same book as the first... try again... it deserves your notice... trust me...

The Hallowed Ones: A Review

I have always had what some might say is an unhealthy curiosity when it comes to the amish. I have read both fiction and non fiction books about them and their culture. That being said most books I have read have been from a Christian perspective so I went into this book thinking I would not like this book... because I knew that it would be totally different. I have never been more wrong..

Now onto the nitty gritty.

Characters: I found Katie's coming of age character to be totally believable. She wanted so much to please her people, but at the same time had to do what she believed was right. Alex was by far my most favorite Character in the book. He came into the book about half way through but I think out of all the characters in this book he is the one that made me want to keep reading. I found the hexenmeister to be interesting as well. As I said before the only Amish fiction I have read has been Christian based, and they never mentioned that part of the amish culture... I had to research it myself. Which in itself was interesting to read about. But he was brave... in every since of the word... at the end of the book he was an inspiration.

Plot: Now when this book first started I didn't think I was going to like this plot... and it was slow going at first. But after Elijah and Katie went to town in search of his brothers I was hooked. This was some scary stuff. There were several places where I had to put the book down and walk away because a scene in the book freaked me out... and I most definitely could not read this book in the dark by myself. 

I was pleasantly surprised with this book and it deserves all its four star. I personally can't wait for the next book in the series to come out!!! 

The Selection: A Review

I was so excited when I finally got my hands on this book. I have so many other books on my kindle right now...but I wanted to read this book. And it took me Sunday to read it. That's how good it is. Ms. Cass wrote a different Cinderella story. One with peasants and princes. With love and intrigue. Danger and heart ache. But this isn't your ordinary Cinderella. There is no step mother..no ugly step sisters. Just a girl trying so hard to be strong and keep it together for her family. 

I have to say out of all the heroins of this new dystopian era of fiction that we live in. America is in the top 5. She isn't afraid to yell or tell her opinion. She isn't afraid to love. She is the most interesting person I have ever read. But each of the characters in this story are more than just characters after you read them. They are real. 

This plot is interesting... and it had me confused at times. I would have like more of a background on how the world ended up this way, not just  the snippets we read through out the book. But besides that, I think Ms. Cass did a wonderful job, creating this world of castes and a society so different, yet so mirroring the one we live now. I found myself torn between the two love stories that were happening. Wishing for her to be the princess, because I'm a girl and its what we do. And wishing for her to run away with her six and live happily if not richly ever after. I was sad to see this book come to an end...but glad that America's story isn't over yet. 

The Immortal Rules: A Review

Yes I know, I am behind on the times...but their are a lot of books to read on my kindle...so I finally got to this one.

The past couple weeks I have heard so much about this book, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. And it didn't disappoint. I like that she takes several myths and legends and combines them in this thrilling book.  Allison was no saint, and I like that Julie didn't write her as such. Watching her struggle with the monster within pulled on my heart strings. But by far my favorite character was Kanin. He was so resigned to the facts of what he was. Yet he was searching that hospital for answers. He was hated on all sides yet still yearned to set it right. The World that this book is based is one I have never read before... And I can tell you I am glad to read about it and not live in it.

The only problem I found in this book, is the slow parts. There were several places I really wanted to just skim until I happened upon something interesting...but I am glad I didn't...because it really showed Allison struggle that I would have missed had I skimmed. So while slow it did add to the story. This was a very enjoyable read. 

Lost by Nadia Simonenko: A Review

Fear is an ugly thing... especially when it holds on to your very soul. You cower in hopes the panic won't grip you again...and you find solice in a locked bedroom. But when you find someone that understands that is living in fear of something entirely different...yet the same..that's when you find true solice....

My first thought a few minutes ago when I finished this book as that I have no words. But that isn't true...because I'm a girl and there are so many words to describe but nothing seems right...

Let me start with this... I have said many times before that if you can't write emotion...if the reader doesn't feel it...than you haven't done your job... Whether it's a movie, a tv show, music, or a beautiful book. If we can't feel it... you need a new day job.

This book had me gasping for breath, glaring in fury, sobbing in desperation, and laughing hysterically from one page to the next.. I don't believe I've been this emotional since I was pregnant almost 11 years ago. 

The characters were broken, wounded, and yet so beautiful. The plot was like a swollen river..it took me places I didn't know a book could take me. 

This is not a light book...Not by any means...but I devoured it page after page... If their is one word to describe this book it is brokeness. Nadia took this brokeness and wove it until a story that changed me profoundly. I don't believe that five stars is really enough...but that is all Good Reads gives so it will have to be enough...but know this..this is love...what she wrote...true love...because you true love really does cast out all fear....

This book could be really funny.... The first couple chapters had me laughing so hard. And they went to hell...and the funny stopped. I felt like half the time I was in a horny teenage boys head, and the other half in a clueless little girls. It got boring, tedious, and a little offensive to read after awhile... Like I read another reviewer say...it felt like a never ending poop joke after awhile. There wasn't really a plot as much as a disaster... and I almost just quit reading several times...but I'm not a quitter so I kept reading... I expected more after a beautiful cover and an amazing start. This isn't a long review...because there isn't a whole lot to say without being down right mean...

I really Hate that I have talked this book up Monday and Tuesday...because it really was good in the beginning...just needed a better middle and ending.
